Welcome To The Yard!
Powder Yoga owner Charlie Davies has decided to move beyond strengthening our broken bodies and open The Yard, a recreation and social gathering space for all to enjoy.
Powder Yoga has been in search of a new home this year, but rather than keep on doing the same thing they decided to set out on a new mission to create a space where people can enjoy so much more than before. At the heart of it all is a focus on the local Niseko community and so The Yard is a space where we can all work hard, play hard and rest hard too.
The Yard is a recreation space, a multipurpose home designed to enable different ideas and concepts to come to life. Charlie and her team wanted to create a space for Niseko locals that spoke not only to health and wellness but also jobs, businesses and free time.
The Yard will open in November 2021 offering yoga and fitness classes provided by Powder Yoga, a cold-press juice bar + cafe, a co-working space, a private treatment room for massages, physiotherapy and health coaching consultations, an event and gallery space and last but not least, an indoor skate area with mini ramp and features. AMAZING!
Charlie said, "We want to bring our community together to enjoy everything that The Yard has to offer. No matter your interests this space will have something for you. Healthy food and drinks, skate sessions, yoga, breathwork + fitness classes, community events + workshops, book clubs, language swaps, juice bar cocktail parties, live music, gallery space and so much more. To top it all off we wanted to make sure that our furry friends in Niseko had somewhere to hang out too, so we have a dedicated pet friendly area as part of our co-working space, cafe and juice bar."
How can you help?
The Yard is a true community project and you can all help by visiting the crowdfunding page here. Sign up for a yoga season pass, day passes to The Yard or even a selection of juices... there are many ways you can support this project and make sure it is a great success for everyone!
There is nothing better than seeing people come together to create something special, it is a very Japanese spirit and we at Uchi wish Charlie and her team the very best of luck!
