Niseko United's Ongoing Commitment to Infrastructure Upgrades: The New Ace Gondola in Niseko-Hirafu
Tokyu Resort, operator of the largest ski area of the Niseko United resort Niseko-Hirafu, is continuing their commitment to enhancing the resort experience with significant infrastructure upgrades. This winter, Niseko-Hirafu will debut its upgraded gondola, ensuring that visitors can ascend the mountain in unmatched comfort and style.
The beloved Center Four lift is being replaced with the state-of-the-art "Ace Gondola," which is on track to be fully operational by November 2024. Construction has been progressing smoothly, with both the top and bottom stations nearly complete, promising a more comfortable and scenic ride to the top of the mountain.
The Ace Gondola represents a leap forward in lift technology and guest comfort. Each of the 54 luxury cabins will be equipped with Wi-Fi, heated seats, and dedicated racks for skis and mountain bikes, ensuring that every journey up the mountain is warm, convenient, and connected. With a capacity of 10 passengers per cabin and the ability to transport 2,800 skiers and riders per hour, the new gondola will significantly reduce wait times and improve the overall flow of guests on the slopes. The lift also operates 50% faster than its predecessor, helping to alleviate congestion at the resort. For those looking for an extra thrill, two cabins will feature a special design with a see-through floor, offering breathtaking 360° views of the surrounding landscape.
Located in the same prime spot as the old Center Four lift, the Ace Gondola starts at the .Base (Dot Base) ticket office and ascends to a top station near the Ace Hill Cafe. This familiar route offers seamless access from ticketing to the slopes, allowing guests to start their day effortlessly. With its enhanced features and strategic location, the new gondola will make every ski day at Grand Hirafu even more enjoyable.
It's important to note that Grand Hirafu will now feature two gondolas. The original Grand Hirafu Gondola remains beside the Mountain Centre, while the new Ace Gondola is conveniently located next to the .Base (Dot Base) lift ticket office. Make sure to head to the correct location for your ride up the mountain.
Niseko United's dedication to improving its infrastructure ensures that the resort remains a top destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
