Travellers are pouring into Japan this summer with the cheapest holiday packages in decades. Tourism nearly stopped for more than two years, but the number of visitors to Japan in July rose to its highest this year.
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), over 2.32 million foreign visitors were recorded since the pandemic.
Due to the weak yen currency, many visitors took advantage of tourism which mainly contributed to a growth surge in the country's economy. From April to June, Japan's economy grew up to 6% much faster than expected with strong tourist arrivals.
Arrivals have risen steadily, and Japan will continue to boost tourism in the following years.
