Welcome Back! Visa-Free Entry To Japan Begins Again
We must admit that there were times we thought this day might never come, but finally Japan's borders are re-opening for visa-free travel tomorrow - October 11th, 2022.
There are a handful of conditions, but the basic premise is that the 68 countries who enjoyed visa-free travel pre-pandemic are now back on the same program. Woohoo! If you are triple vaccinated (or boosted appropriately) then you can enter just by showing proof of vaccination. If not you will be required to take a PCR test and have a negative result in the 72 hours before boarding your plane.
Please also be sure to follow any local and government health guidelines in Japan. Currently that would mean wearing masks and, in certain settings, maintaining social distance.
If you plan to visit this winter you'd better get your skates on - popular hotels in the top resorts are in high demand and, perhaps more importantly, there are reports of some flight routes selling out. While airlines and travel companies increase capacity back to 2019 levels you should be prepared for some bumps in the road.
But with the backing of the historically weak Japanese yen there has never been a better time to visit, nor a better time to invest! The number of enquiries racing through the Uchi site are beyond anything we have ever seen and any bargains out there will surely be snapped up quickly, so if you are looking for land, apartments, homes or even your own hotel or ryokan start your search right away with Uchi!
