The 2021 World Ski Awards have been run and won, and the big news coming from the ceremony is that Hokkaido based resorts and properties swept all the Japan awards!!
The Vale Rusutsu - World's Best New Ski Hotel
The Vale Rusutsu headlines the victories proudly taking the prize for 'World's Best New Ski Hotel'. This is the second year running that a Japanese hotel has taken this award, with the Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono taking the honors in 2020. It's also the second time a Rusutsu based hotel has won this award, with the Westin Rusutsu winning in 2016.
Judges praised the Vale Rusutsu for its perfect ski-base location, nature-focused design, roomy suites and host of amenities. Congratulations to all those involved in winning this award, including our partners NISADE, who manage the hotel.

Rusutsu Resort - Japan's Best Ski Resort
Rusutsu returns to the top of the podium as the votes are counted to determine Japan's Best Ski Resort. Having previously won the award in 2017, 18 and 19, this year marks the fourth time Rusutsu has been named Japan's Best. Beating out Niseko, Furano, Hakuba, last year's winner Lotte Arai and a bunch of other resorts, judges remarked that Rusutsu's vast ski area, immaculate grooming, deep powder and après ski options make it the number one choice for skiers holidaying in Japan.

Ki Niseko - Japan's Best Boutique Ski Hotel
Ki Niseko has been a regular winner of the Japan's Best Boutique Ski Hotel since opening in December 2014. This ski-in ski-out property is one of the most popular in Niseko-Hirafu resort and the lucky owners of units in this hotel have experienced excellent rental returns and big capital gains since opening.
There are a handful of units available on the secondary market - an excellent investment in a reliable property.
