Snow Machine Festival (March)

Ski, eat, drink, and party at Niseko’s most epic après-ski experience, the Snow Machine Festival. This unique event blends snow sports with international music acts, where you get to ski in the morning and party at night with epic live performances set against the snowy backdrop. 

Niko Niko Summer Festival  (July)

This family-friendly festival features engaging games, vibrant performances of Japanese instruments and traditional dances, and an always highly-anticipated dazzling fireworks display that light up the summer sky.  

Niseko Classic (July)

Every summer, Niseko hosts this international cycling race which features challenging routes. Anyone aged 16 and above can sign up for this race and no racing license is required, just be sure to complete the registration online via their website before their stated deadline. 

The Kutchan Jaga Matsuri  or Potato Festival (August)

In Kutchan Town, Niseko celebrates its famous potato harvest showcasing its rural culture and traditions through colourful parades, cooking up delicious potato-based delicacies such as creamy potato gratins, baked potatoes, and buttery mashed potato plates, and lively performances of the Jaga Odori (potato dance) where participants can join in, and colourful parades of dashi (vibrant floats) with elaborate Japanese designs.

For a bit of culture on the musical side, head along to Niseko’s annual Jazz Festival. Perfect for music lovers, these soulful performances from local and international artists never fail to make the summer evenings come alive.

Hirafu Festival (August)

One of the largest summer festivals in town, Hirafu Festival is an annual summer festival where thousands of people gather to experience Japanese matsuri complete with lantern-lit streets, local delicacies, and vibrant performances.

Niseko Town Tanabata Fireworks Festival (August)

A yearly summer night tradition, Niseko fills the sky with sparkling fireworks displays where family and friends gather by the river to witness the magical fireworks and enjoy local delicacies.

NAC Trail Run (September)

Are you up for the runners’ challenge? Every year, Niseko organises the NAC Trail Run, where international and local participants compete for Niseko’s rugged terrain while enjoying the panoramic views of Mount Yotei and its surrounding forests.
