The Chedi, a globally renowned luxury hotel group, will make its Japan debut in Niseko-Hirafu, with an opening planned for June 2029.

The project is part of a large-scale development led by Hong Kong-based Ryowa, combining luxury villas with high-end hospitality to elevate Hirafu’s status as one of Asia’s premier mountain resort destinations.

### A Distinctive Global Brand

The Chedi has established its reputation in Europe and the Middle East with a signature approach: fewer rooms, larger layouts, and design that thoughtfully incorporates the history and architectural style of the host region.

In Niseko, The Chedi will feature approximately 30 expansive suites, some exceeding 100 square meters. The development will occupy a site of around 10,000 square meters, with a three-story structure (partially two stories), plus a basement, and a total floor area of roughly 10,000 square meters.

### Facilities & Lifestyle Offerings

Guests will enjoy a range of luxury amenities, including:

- A signature restaurant
- Fitness facilities
- A full-service spa with onsen hot springs

Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026, with completion by autumn 2028 ahead of the 2029 opening.

### A New Chapter for Niseko Luxury

Commenting on the expansion, Stefan Schupbach, CEO of Chedi Hospitality, noted: “Our entry into Japan allows us to share our values of sophistication and global connection.”

The arrival of The Chedi adds to Niseko’s growing roster of international luxury brands, including Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono and The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, further cementing the region’s reputation as one of Japan’s leading destinations for high-end hospitality and lifestyle investment.
