Winter is most definitely coming! The weather suddenly turned and Niseko, Asia's most famous ski resort, enjoyed its first snow for winter 2021-22 overnight.

Local photographer [Glen Claydon](https://glenclaydon.com/) was out and about to catch the first snow, known in Japan as Hatsuyuki (初雪). You can follow his daily snow reports throughout the winter on his excellent [360niseko](https://360niseko.com/first-snowfall-in-niseko-2021-22/) site. For now sit back, enjoy the photos below, close your eyes and imagine the waist-deep fluffy japow that will soon cover these mountains!
